Those who know a thing or two about golf know that golf is often combined with beer. As the old saying goes beer makes everything better and most people believe that the statement remains true when it comes to golf. There are many golfers who have associated themselves with alcohol during their careers but known has been more profound about it than John Daly. Daly was not only a drinker but he was also a pretty good golfer. John Daly was born in Carmichael, California in April 28, 1966. John often went by the nicknames “Long John” and “The Lion”.

John actually obtained five tour victories and won two major championships including the British Open in 1995 and the PGA Championship in 1991. Daly was also named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 1991. Daly also led the PGA Tour eleven times in driving distance. This is a record for leading a particular statistical category.

Daly has many memorable quotes including “I learned you can’t drink whiskey and play golf.” Many people believed he was his own worst enemy because of his drinking habit. Daly’s favorite beer is Budweiser. He event went as far as teeing off on a Budweiser can to proclaim his love for the beer.

Arnold Palmer, also known as The King and Arnie, was born on September 10, 1929 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Palmer holds a total of sixty two PGA Tour victories as well as ten senior PGA Tour victories.

Palmer has also claimed seven professional major championships consisting of four Masters Championships, one U.S. Open and two British Open championships.

Palmer also won the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1954. Palmer is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. When it comes to beer, Arnold likes a beer that is brewed in his home town of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. That beer is Rolling Rock.
